We thought you’d like to get a glimpse at the battery pack of a hybrid vehicle. We recently had to work on one for a customer of ours so we took some photos. You can view those photos in the gallery below.

The battery packs in hybrid vehicles power the electric motor, which makes the car go at lower speeds. When necessary, the vehicle will switch to the gasoline powered part of the hybrid’s engine system. This means less wear and tear on the gasoline engine and increases fuel economy.

Here we are working on the battery pack of a hybrid vehicle. You’ll see we had to use the crane to pull the battery pack out of the vehicle. Notice the one photo with the “high voltage” warning. This is why it’s important to bring your hybrid to a shop that has a technician certified in hybrid engines. In this particular vehicle, there are 250 D-cell batteries.

Any work performed on a hybrid vehicle should be performed by a technician certified in this type of work. When you need any work done on your hybrid vehicle, call Country Road Automotive, especially if you are experiencing a problem with the battery pack of a hybrid vehicle.
